Calder Isles

Terms of play

Last updated 11 October 2026

Calder Isles is a free online game run by Douglas Karlstedt in Sweden. By playing it you agree to these terms. They are short, so please read them. How we handle your data is in the privacy notice.

Free, and in early testing

The game is free and nothing in it is for sale. It is still being built, so expect bugs, downtime and changes. We may change, rebalance or remove anything in the game, and we may have to reset characters, items or the world, especially while it is in testing. Your characters and items are part of the game, not property: they have no money value and cannot be sold or exchanged for money.

Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old. One person may have more than one account, but you are responsible for everything done with yours. A guest account lives in your browser: if you clear its site data before adding an email, it cannot be recovered.

How to behave

The isles are one shared world. Don't:

If you find a bug that could be abused, report it with /bug instead of using it. If someone breaks these rules, use /report.

What we can do

To keep the game fair and safe, we may filter chat, rename characters, remove items or coin gained unfairly, and mute, suspend or ban accounts. We try to be fair and proportionate, and you can ask about a decision at hello@calderisles.com. We may also close the game or end the service at any time; we will give notice in the News on calderisles.com where we can.

The game is ours

The game, its world, story, art, music and code belong to its maker and the people who licensed their work to it (see Credits in the game). You may play it, share screenshots and video of it, and stream it. Don't copy, resell or redistribute the game itself.

No guarantees

The game is provided as it is, free and in testing, without any promise that it will always be available, work on your computer, or keep your progress. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from playing or not being able to play. Nothing here limits rights you have by law as a consumer that cannot be limited.

Changes and the law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when, and big changes go in the News. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply. These terms follow Swedish law, without taking away the protection of the law where you live.
